Well I graduated on Saturday. Now all I have to do is wait for grades to make sure that it is for real...
K and I are packed and ready for Europe. We leave tomorrow morning and get to spend about 30 hours traveling. If you'll be in Europe when we are hopefully we can meet up. | | Thursday, November 29th, 2007 | | 9:26 am |
Last Class I'm about to start what I can only hope will be my last school class ever. I will still have BarBri and CLE later in life, but at least this crap will be over. | | Wednesday, October 31st, 2007 | | 10:05 am |

MPRE I got my results back today for the MPRE. I passed!
Now all I have to do is send in my bar exam application, which I finished today, pass all my classes this semester, and study for and pass the bar; oh and find a job.
You know, when you look at it like that it's kind of anti-climactic. | | Saturday, June 16th, 2007 | | 12:52 am |
My dad So I was at work today when I got a call. My dad shot himself and was taken to the hospital. My mom and I made the decision to pull the plug and he passed on at 10:30 PM. Funeral details to follow. | | Wednesday, May 30th, 2007 | | 4:20 pm |
Europe Because K and I are apparently the only people who have never been to Europe we are considering a trip for graduation. We can leave Dec. 18 a few days after graduation and go to Paris, Rome, and Brussels. We will then fly into Richmond for Tony's wedding before flying back to Orlando.
My plan right now includes the Vatican for Christmas and Paris for New Years. Does anyone have any suggestions? Sights to see? Addtional places to go? | | Saturday, March 17th, 2007 | | 5:01 pm |
I'm stuck in the library this weekend working on my ULWR paper, so I may as well do an update to avoid writing.
After the first two days of the tourney my brackets are looking good, but OSU gave me a scare this morning. At one point I was in the top 5000 on facebook. I don't have any money in the tourney so I wouldn't be sad if all the top teams except Florida lost, but I doubt that will happen.
I'm working on replacing my SCUBA C-card, is anyone else certified and if so would you be interested in a diving trip? I want to get K certified and I probably could use a refresher course. Then of course there is the expense of getting two sets of scuba gear. It pisses me off that my mom gave mine away while I was a college, but I needed new gear anyway.
Happy St. Pattys Day, and if you're by the law library, bring me a beer! | | Tuesday, March 13th, 2007 | | 3:54 pm |
Another day another $.02 Last night K and I watched Borat, or as it should be called, "Worst Movie Ever!" I kept waiting for the funny part to arrive, and it never did.
As for other news, Key West has installed 2 sets of statues at the "Southernmost Point." They look like crap and ruin everyone's photos. Check out mine on Facebook to see how bad/creepy they look. I emailed the Key West city commissioner who sponsored the motion to intall them and told him that i though they looked like crap and should be removed. We will see if anything actually happens or if he even emails me back.
Finally we found out that we will be going to a fourth wedding this winter. Anybody else who plans to get married in Nov., Dec., or Jan. needs to preaprove their dates with us! Between weddings, Thanksgiving, Christmas, exams, and graduation it will be a busy few months. | | Sunday, March 11th, 2007 | | 5:29 pm |
Spring Break Since I've run out of energy to continue working on my ULWR paper I'm gonna make a post before I head home.
K and I went to Key West for Spring Break. We rented a cottege 1 block off Duval that let us bring Princess. We had a great time in Key West, and were even able to take Princess to a dog beach and kayaking. On the way back we stopped off in Islamorada at the World Wide Sportman (Bass Pro). They had a sign outside that dogs were welcome, but they had to be carried. I called BS on that. K wouldn't go in with Princess so after we were done shopping I went out to the car and got Princess and carried her through the store. I'm pretty sure that I'm the only person who has ever carried a 70lb dog through their store.
K and I also visited where will will be living after graduation. We're going to move to Lake Wales on Lake Walk-in-Water. Her parents have an extra house there, and since I'm jobless anyway, we may as well live there while I look for a job. We'll be fixing it up and doing a remodel over the next year or so. If you'll be in central florida and want to go bass fishing our house will be the place to go.
Finally I'm going to UF in two weeks (March 23-25) for initaiton. If you're going to be in town drop me a line. | | Tuesday, February 6th, 2007 | | 6:39 pm |
An Update As K already posted, we finally got our wedding video. My favorite thing about the entire video is that as K and I are lighting our unity candle you can hear our audio. I spilt some of the wax on K and you can hear her say "You just spilt hot wax on me" and my reply of "I love you Katrina." This is the perfect example of our marriage. Our first words as a married couple was K complaining about something I screwed up and me appologizing. You have got to love us.
On another note, I'm going to Atlanta for the ABA client counseling competition. We came in second again this year, but the 1st place team couldn't go. I'm looking forward to a weekend in the ATL, but the drive will be a pain and my whole day Saturday could be taken up by the competition, if we do well.
My life is way to stressed right now. I'm working on this competition, trying to write my ULWR paper, and K and I are trying to figure out if we can tolerate living in Tally for a few years after graduation. Add to that K's stress over her project and it is just getting tiring.
Is it Spring Break yet?
Also K and I had to go to Tampa this weekend for her class. On the way down I got pulled over in Levy county and got a $207.50 speeding ticket. I now get to go to traffic school. On Sunday when we were about to head back to Tally, we were about to start the car after having lunch only to have it not start. We ended up having to call AAA and had to have them replace the battery for $150. It was an expensive weekend. | | Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007 | | 7:31 am |
You know the Bible 82%! Wow! You are truly a student of the Bible! Some of the questions were difficult, but they didn't slow you down! You know the books, the characters, the events . . . Very impressive!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas Vacation Here is a post for the attornies and law students who read my LJ. "'How the Grinch Stole Christmas Vacation' or Response to Request to Ignore Vacation Letter" http://www.groklaw.net/pdf/grinch.pdf | | Monday, November 27th, 2006 | | 12:49 pm |
Law School Exams Law School exams are looming near, so I thought I would post a good description for those who are not in law school. The standard law student basically looks at exams as a form of mental bulemia. You spend a few days craming every piece of knowledge you can into your brain only to get to the exam an vomit up everything you learn, only to do it all again in a few days.
"T'was the night before exams"
Twas the night before exams, and all through the library; not a person was happy, no one was merry. The outlines were written and printed with care; In hopes that the answers would be in there. It had been more than a week since the 1Ls had seen their beds; While visions of Starbucks danced through their heads; The 3Ls were drunk, the 2Ls, taking a nap, I was wondering how I was going to learn all this crap. When from down the hall, I heard such a clatter, I sprang from my seat to see what was the matter. Away to the group study rooms I sprang with a flash, Tore open the door, and threw up the sash. The florescent light on the practice exam hypo, Gave the lustre of mid-day to the questions below. When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but strange fact pattern involving issues unclear, With an extra large staple, it must be 20 pages thick, I knew in a moment, their professor was sick. More rapid that eagles, the cases they came, And I whistled and shouted, and called them by name. "Now Palsgraff! now Pennoyer! now Dredd Scott and Ashwander! On Marbury! on Miranda! on, Youngstown and Lochner! I've read all these cases, back in the fall! Now write away! Write away! Write away all!" As children at bed time, they began to cry, and they begged and they pleaded and wished to die. So back to their laptops, the students they flew, to update their outlines and their class notes, too. And then, in a twinkling, I heard such a sigh, the sound of exhaustion from a gunner 1L guy. As I drew in my breath, and was turning around, I knew his sprit had been chrushed without even a sound. Though he'd dress all in suits, from his head to his toes, he'd not have a chance at good grades to show. The bundle of books he had carried on his backs had not translated to learning, understanding he lacked. His eyes- how they had twinkled, his face had been merry! His cheeks had been like roses, his nose like a cherry! Now his drawl little mouth was drawn down like a bow, His unshaven beard was just starting to show. The stump of a pencil he held tight in his teeth, And the gloom, it encircled his face like a wreath. He had a broad face and a little round belly that shook when he cried, like a bowl full of jelly. He was chubby and plump, a sorry shell of his old self, And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself. A blink of my eyes and a turn of his head, Soon gave me to know, he had plenty to dread. He spoke not a word, but went back to work, and rewrote his outline, then turned with a jerk, And laying a finger aside of his nose, Slowly out of his chair, slowly he rose. He sprang to his book bag, and let out a whistle, he still had time to get a Venti Chia Soy Double. But I heard him exclaim, as he walked out of sight, "I'm goind to go read Gilbert's for the rest of the night." | | Tuesday, October 31st, 2006 | | 8:48 pm |

Florida Football K and I went to Gainesville this weekend for Homecoming. Gator Growl was great and thanks to Amy for hosting a party so that we could see a few people. Saturday was the UF-LSU game, and for anyone who didn't see it, the Gators were playing only marginally. Then a LSU player did the Chomp. From that point on the Gators killed the Pussies. LSU didn't score a touchdown after it. This leads me to the point of this post, proper ettiqute for Gator Football games.
Attire:
1) Males between the ages of 18 and 50 shall wear a collared shirt. The shirt may be Orange, Blue, White, or any combination thereof. If a Gator logo appears on the shirt, it should be no more than 1.5" x 1.5". Kahki shorts shall be worn, unless temperatures are below 70 degrees at kickoff. Cargo shorts are unacceptable. Males may never wear jorts and the penalty for doing so at a Gator game shall be death.
2) Females between the ages of 18 and 30 may wear any of the following: a) Sundress b) Gator jersey c) Self designed shirt showing at least the midrift and 1/3 of your cleavage d) Collared shirt similar to the requirements for males, but appropriately fitted for the female form
3) Children under age 18 may wear any Gator related clothing. Children may wear facepaint or fake tattoos.
4) Males over age 50 and females over age 30 may wear any appropriate Gator related clothing, so long as it is deemed tasteful and not over the top.
5) Colors should be the correct shade, but may be relatively close. Incorrect shades of orange or blue shall not be permitted when playing Auburn or Tennessee. Proper Gator blue is required for games against Auburn. Tennessee orange shall never be worn.
6) Body painting is unacceptable, unless it fits within an acceptable category of body painting, i.e. the orange beanied/blue bodypainted/blue caped males who do it every game.
Decorum:
1) Gator fans shall stand at all times after kick off except the following: a) Half time b) TV timeouts c) periods between quarters d) injuries e) sections (b),(c), and (d) shall not apply to undergraduate students.
2) At all times when the visiting team has the ball, Gator fans shall be prepared to do that following: a) Yell as loud as possible after the opposing team breaks the huddle until the ball is snapped b) On key plays yell and do the Chomp from the time the opposing huddle is formed until the ball is snapped
3) When the Gators are on offense fans shall be silent from the time when the huddle is formed until after the ball is snapped.
4) All fans shall remain in the stadium until after "We are the Boys" is sung at the end of the third quarter. The elderly and unfirm and those with women and children may leave during the fourth quarter if the Gators are assured of winning. The Gators are assured of winning in the following situations: a) The Gators lead a non-SEC team other than FSU by more than 20 points. b) The Gators lead SEC teams by 25 points. c) The Gators lead FSU by 28 points.
5) Keys shall not be shaken at opposing fans until all the following conditions are satisfied: a) After the end of the third quarter b) The Gators are assured of winning according to the qualifications of section 4 c) The Gators have scored a touchdown
6) When the Gators score a touchdown males shall kiss their girlfriend or wife. | | Monday, September 18th, 2006 | | 8:12 am |
Rocky Top, you'll always be second in the SEC; Good ole' Rocky Top; second in the SEC; second in the SEC.
In other news K and I will be going to UF Homecoming! We have tickets, so Geaux Gators!
Also I'm try to get elected to Lambda Chi's housing corp. so I can start my slow take over of the world. | | Thursday, September 7th, 2006 | | 9:45 am |
This semester I'm taking Gratuitious Transfers. It is about Wills, Trusts, and Estates, or what happens to your shit when you die. I really think this is interesting, but I'm not sure it is something I would enjoy doing. The good thing about it is that everyone dies, and most of them come to Florida to do it, but you don't have a lot of opportunity for repeat clients.
I find it interesting because there are so many things that affect the resolution of one's estate. Right now we are using a fact pattern about Howard and Wendy and what happens with their estate. | | Wednesday, September 6th, 2006 | | 8:41 am |
My life Well Katrina has complained that I never post so I figured I'd update everyone on my summer and the first few weeks of class.
My big accomplishment in the last few months was getting up on water skis. It has taken me almost 2 1/2 years, but I finally got up. I also tried wake skating, but didn't get up yet.
2 weekends ago K and I flew to Ft. Lauderdale for a Phi Delta Phi Conclave. Though I miss the ocean, I hate So. Fla. The drivers are horrible and prices for everything is outrageous. We did however go shopping at Sawgrass Mills and have great seafood at a restaurant over the intercoastal Saturday night.
My Labor Day weekend was a different kind of fun. We had to drive to Tampa to rebuild my mom's concrete garage wall. Someone had driven through it a few weeks ago, so my uncle, grandfather, and I rebuilt the wall in about a day. K and I then went to Clearwater Beach on Sunday and had lunch on the Beach. We took Princess Peach, our dog, to a few dog parks in Palm Harbor and the only dog park in Pasco County.
Last night K and I saw Nickleback at the TLCCC. Hinder, Chevelle, and Hoobastank opened. The openers were all marginal and sounded bad. Nickleback however was great. K really loves them and they are acceptable in my book. They gave a great performance and seem to be better live than recorded, which is so rare anymore.
I know, I know my life is boring, but at least it's an update. | | Monday, June 26th, 2006 | | 8:44 pm |
Palm Harbor For those of you who don't know much about Palm Harbor, where I'm from, I think this simple quote from Wikipaedia will explain everything you need to know.
As of the census of 2000, ... The racial makeup of the CDP was 95.83% White, 0.97% African American, 0.19% Native American, 1.28% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.60% from other races, and 1.10% from two or more races.
It's so white bread that they even cut off the crusts. Oh and for those of you who didn't know the Klan had their Florida HQ near Palm Harbor during the 1970s. |
